Igor Stimac earlier included 26 players in the first list who will start practice on May 10 in Bhubaneswar. The second list included players from Mumbai City FC and Mohun Bagan SG who played in the ISL Cup final. They will join the camp on May 15.
This camp is important for the Indian Football team's preparation for the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2026 Asian Qualifiers Round 2 matches. A total of 41 players will participate in the national camp. India will face Kuwait in Kolkata on June 6 and Qatar in Doha on June 11.
India is second in Group A with four points from four matches. The top two teams of the group will advance to the third round and qualify for the AFC Asian Cup.
After a dismal outing against Afghanistan, India's hopes for the next stage qualification are in doubt and the Blue Tigers will have to get a positive result against Kuwait to have any realistic chance for qualification.
