South Africa struggled to score quickly in their innings and lost wickets regularly as India's spin bowlers took control of the game. However, this tournament shows significant progress compared to the inaugural competition two years ago, where South Africa did not advance beyond the Super Six stage.

South Africa won the toss and chose to bat first, as Parunika Sisodia clean-bowled opener Simone Lourens at the end of the second over to pick up South Africa's first wicket. Another opener, Jemma Botha went back to the pavilion after adding 16 off 14 to the scorecards.

India quickly took over the South African batting line-up, as Diara Ramlakan and captain Kayla Reyneke got out at 3 and 7, respectively; where the score was 40-4 in 11.2 overs.

Only Mieke Van Broot tried to build up some resistance by scoring 23 off 18, but Gongadi Trisha sent her back to the pavilion at 17.5 over. Following that, Sheshnie Naidu, Ashleigh van Wyk, and Monalisa Legodi all registered ducks, as South Africa got all out at just 82 in 20 overs.

Gongadi Trisha stalled her bowling figure at 3-15, whereas Paruniaka Sisodia (2-6), Ayushi Shukla (2-9), and Vaishnavi Sharma (2-23), the highest wicket-taker of the tournament, collectively collapsed the South African batting.

India started their chase with an explosive performance, racing to 18 runs without losing a wicket in the first two overs. They maintained their momentum and reached 36-0 by the end of the fourth over.

South Africa managed their only breakthrough soon after, as captain Kayla Reyneke induced Kamalini G into playing a rash shot, which was brilliantly caught by Simone Lourens.

However, this was the only highlight for South Africa’s bowling attack. Gongadi Trisha continued her excellent form, finishing with an unbeaten 44 runs off 33 balls, including eight fours. She was well-supported by Sanika Chalke, who contributed 26 runs off 22 deliveries.

Together, they guided India comfortably across the finish line, securing a decisive nine-wicket victory and claiming the ICC Women’s U19 T20 World Cup 2025 title.

As the cherry on top, Gongadi Trisha was named the Player of the Match, and she stamped her name winning the Player of The Tournament award as well.

Trisha also accumulated the most runs (309) in the tournament, whereas Vaishnavi Sharma topped the list of most wicket-takers with a staggering 17 wickets.

Indian team remarkably remained the whole tournament unbeaten, winning six games in this edition held in Malaysia.
