Indian Football News: Kolkata football celebrates 45 years of Mohun Bagan vs Pele and his mighty New York Cosmos

In Indian Football News, Indian football legend and Lok Sabha member Prasun Banerjee and his team has organized a reunion in memory of the historic match between New York Cosmos and Mohun Bagan played 45 years ago today.

"45 years ago on a rainy afternoon in the Garden of Eden, we made history. I played a match against the legendary football king Pele with his New York Cosmos Club. We, that is, those who played for Mohun Bagan that day, will forever remain in their hearts. We were able to return the match 2-2 in a fierce fight because we fought with our heads held high in front of the king of football. Added another golden feather to the proud crown of our legendary coach PK Banerjee."

"The 45th anniversary of that match will be on Saturday 24 September 2022. I have taken special initiative to remember that special day. All the surviving members of that team, my friends-teammates, all of us who fought shoulder-to-shoulder that day, have been invited again. I want to bring back some stories, some chats from 3 pm at the Calcutta Press Club, that afternoon 45 years ago. There are also several special plans to make the event memorable. We want you media friends to join us in this history. "
