Chelsea have already signed Christopher Nkunku & Nicolas Jackson this summer but Pochettino wants another one as he thinks they might not fulfill his targets. Nkunku can play in various positions at the top while Jackson is a pure no 9. Nkunku can score plenty of goals too but to compete at the level of Manchester City, Liverpool, Arsenal, and the sleeping Giant Manchester United, they need more. Pochettino is fond of Dusan Vlahovic but getting him would be not so easy as Juventus want a hefty transfer fee for the Serbian forward.

Why Chelsea need a complete package like Dusan Vlahovic?
Chelsea finished 12th on the Premier League 2022/23 points table with 44 points. The Blues scored only 38 goals in 38 matches, which is low than relegated teams like Leicester and Leeds. So, they need someone to provide them goals. Kai Havertz couldn’t deliver as a no 9 last season and Chelsea suffered on many occasions in the final third. They just couldn’t find the back of the net.
Chelsea confirmed Nkunku signing in the 2022/23 winter window but due to the unfinished contract, he had to stay at Leipzig until this summer. Nkunku scored 16 goals and provided 4 assists in just 25 games for Leipzig in the 2022/23 Bundesliga season. So surely, he has the potential to score a hefty number of goals for Chelsea too. So why does Pochettino need another no 9 like Vlahovic?
The Serbian and Juventus no 9 Dusan Vlahovic, who idolised Zlatan Ibrahimovic is no doubt a brilliant striker. He was attracting huge clubs in Europe during his time at Fiorentina. He joined Juventus for £66.6m on a four-and-a-half-year deal. Vlahovic scored 44 goals in 98 Serie A games for Fiorentina which was a brilliant number for a player of his age. He announced himself in Juventus with the same level of energy, pace, finishing, and everything he was carrying.
In 2022/23 he didn’t succeed like before. Juventus manager Allegri can be the reason as Vlahovic was not aware of playing under a defensive system. Under, Pochettino and the Premier League system can really work out for him. He is physically strong more like Haaland and he also can perform link-up play pretty well. He was destined to be the Serbian Harry Kane but it’s still not late as he is only 23.
Can Chelsea meet the expectations of Juventus?
Vlahovic to Chelsea can be a very good deal but Pochettino also has to think and improve his system a lot because of the competition Premier League holds in itself. The report claims that Juventus are willing to stand firm over Vlahovic and have made it clear that it will not accept any offers lower than €75 million (£64m), plus further performance-related bonus payments.
