Al-Nassr was knocked out of Saudi King's Cup by Al-Wehda in the semi-final on Monday. They lost by 0-1 goal as Cristiano Ronaldo failed to score for the Saudi club against a 10-men opposition. With this, this is now Al-Nassr's second exit from any tournament this season.

Al-Nassr signed Cristiano Ronaldo for a record-breaking £177m per year deal till 2025 and hoped for great results this season. Although, early signs were great for the club as the Portuguese legend started scoring goals for fun in the Saudi league. And, everyone expected Ronaldo to blast every record for the Suadi club after that.

After conquering Europe, winning five Champions Leagues and five Ballon d'Or awards, Ronaldo's exit from Europe's top division had some fans in shock as well. But the Champions League top scorer wanted to unleash himself in new challenges as he has done throughout his career. But, now everything does not seem to fall into place for him.

Saudi Super Cup | Semi-finals | Lost against Al-Ittihad Club (3-1)

Ronaldo's Al-Nassr club first lost their semi-finals fixture of the Saudi Super Cup against Al-Ittihad Club on 26th January, just three weeks after he joined the club. Cristiano played the whole 90 minutes for Al-Nassr but could not score any goal as they have to lose the match by 3-1. Talisca was the only goal scorer for them as the crowd saw a frustrated Ronaldo leaving the field. Ronaldo played only one match of the Saudi Super Cup and lost it.

Saudi King's Cup | Semi-finals | Lost against Al-Wehda (0-1)

Cristiano Ronaldo played in the Quater-finals of the King's Cup, unlike the Super Cup. They defeated Abha by 3-1 in the quarter-final. However, Ronaldo could not net the ball for the home team that night. That trend continued in the semi-final as well as the former Manchester United star as he could not help his team with any goal contributions in the Saudi King's Cup 2023.

Jean-David Beauguel scored an absolute stunner for Al-Wehda in the 38th minute to give his team the valuable lead. In the second half, they were restricted to 10 men after Abdullah Al Hafith received a second yellow and was shown a red card in the 53rd minute of the match. Despite facing a 10-men team at their home, Cristiano Ronaldo-led Al-Nassr could not find a way to score any goal. Goalkeeper Monir El Kajoui produced an inspiring performance to deny Ronaldo twice.

After their second exit from any tournament and after being dropped to the second position in the Suadi Pro League table, there might be questions raised on if the biggest deal in football history was successful or not.
