United kept possession for most of the time and continuously tested Pickford. McTominay scored the goal in the 36th minute to give the lead to United. Sancho got a well-deserved assist after so many opportunities he already created before that finish.

Manchester United had 21 shots in the first half, and among them, they had 4-5 clear opportunities to extend the lead but Pickford kept Everton alive in the game with plenty of saves. It was Wan-Bissaka who spurned the best of the early opportunities to put Man Utd ahead. Antony hit the post with a left-footed strike from the edge of the box. The ball then fell perfectly into the path of Wan-Bissaka, who was being played onside. The first half ended with a 1-0 scoreline in favour of Manchester United.

Rashford had to be subbed off due to an injury he sustained during a collision in the opposition box. He left the stadium through the tunnel and it looked suspicious to the fans as if it was a serious injury. The match ended 2-0 in favour of United with 29 shots. A pure dominant performance that completely shattered the Everton side.
