First half:

Rashford was not in the squad for the game as he was struggling with an injury. Varane was back and ten Hag put him directly in the starting XI. Manchester United have been brilliant in their home this season. They started fluently and it was an important game for them as Liverpool is closing in. Antony took a shot in the first minute of the game which was easily blocked. Wolves kept possession but they were wasteful in the midfield. Bruno controlled the midfield alongside Casemiro and Eriksen. Eriksen didn't have a great win but he was making runs when needed.

Diego Costa saw the first card of the game after a reckless foul to Antony. Manchester United got the lead in the 32nd minute of the game. The attack was started by Bruno who found Antony in the right flank. Antony then dribbled past the defender and found Martial. He didn't make a single mistake and buried the ball into the net. This was a much-needed goal for them.

Casemiro was shown a yellow card for a bad foul to Cunha. Manchester United tried more shots to beat Bently in goal but none were too good to be ended in the back of the net. The first half ended with a 1-0 scoreline in favour of Manchester United.

Second Half:

Manchester United have built a bad reputation in this season. They have started so many matches with great intensity and then they somehow lose that in the second half. This wasn't the case against Wolves as they showed the positive intent right from the start of the second half. Antony got a couple of chances but he was pretty wasteful in front of the goal. He once had a chance to provide another assist by finding Eriksen but he took a shot instead and wasted the key chance to double the lead. Wolves tried to hit United on the counter but Varane and Lindelof didn't let them get past them. Shaw also having a great season. he has also played as a CB in many matches. He also showed consistency in his game today.

Fred replaced Eriksen who was lacking energy in the midfield and it went in favour of ten Hag. Fred showed speed and energy in the midfield which cost a lot of miss passes from the Wolves players. Garnacho replaced Sancho in the left flank. Sancho didn't have a great game. He was lacking in speed and more importantly, he was not seen anywhere on the pitch. With Garnacho in, United looked more stable than before.

Adama tried to get past Luke Shaw a couple of times but Shaw didn't give a single opportunity. United doubled their lead in injury time after a brilliant counterattack from Bruno Fernandes and Garnacho. A well-timed through pass found Garnacho who made a in-behind run. Garnacho sent Semedo on the wrong side with a fake shot and then scored a brilliant goal. He made a shirtless celebration in front of the home fans and that was enough to secure 3 points against Wolves.
