According to the latest Manchester United News, Mason Greenwood is under arrest on suspicion of rape and assault. The 20-year-old is seriously in link with domestic violence over his girlfriend. She took this matter on Instagram; posting a series of graphic images and clips including a voice clip which were showing clear signs of domestic violence.
Manchester United News: Mason Greenwood remains in custody
Greater Manchester Police are now aware of "social media images and videos posted by a woman reporting incidents of physical violence". They further said, "We can confirm a man in his 20s has since been arrested on suspicion of rape and assault".
"He remains in custody for questioning and inquiries are ongoing."
Manchester United in an official statement:
Manchester United: "do not condone violence of any kind" and are of the allegations on social media but will make no further comment until the "facts have been established".
United also announced that "Mason Greenwood will not return to training or play matches until further notice".
A statement from Greenwood's sponsor Nike:
"We are deeply concerned by the disturbing allegations and will continue to closely monitor the situation."
A dark shadow is looming over the future starlet of Manchester United. Previously, the striker sneaked in two Icelandic models in the team hotel along with Phil Foden breaking their quarantine rules.
As a consequence of this particular situation forced Gareth Southgate to send both of the players back home. Greenwood came through United's academy and has made a total of 129 senior appearances for the team, scoring 36 goals.
