The latest in the Messi transfer news is that the 35-year-old Argentine footballer is all set to join Inter Miami in the US after leaving PSG. The speculations were that Lionel Messi was all set to make a homecoming return to FC Barcelona. However, it is now quite obvious that the former Barcelona forward will not make his return to his boyhood club.

Lionel Messi left PSG after the Argentine had some issues with the club management post his Saudi Arabia tour without the club's permission. Since then, the hopes for Barcelona fans were that, their favourite son will make his return to the Camp Nou. Along with that, Messi had an offer worth €1 BILLION from Saudi League club, Al Hilal.

But, all seems irrelevant now as Lionel Messi has decided to make MLS his new home. Barcelona had its hands tied due to La Liga's financial fair play rules. And, Messi did not have guarantees from the Spanish club that those restrictions would be over. As per a few reports, the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner wanted to go to a club where he could have an ownership stake. Moreover, he wanted to leverage on the existing deal with Adidas and MLS's tie-up with Apple.

As per the latest in Messi transfer news, he's set to receive a massive compensation package that includes a share of Apple's revenue generated by MLS Season Pass and also a share of Adidas profits from his MLS arrival.

This will be the first time that Messi will be playing outside Europe since 2004 when he joined FC Barcelona as an academy player.
