FC Barcelona start their campaign with an important win. Marcus Rashford with two world-class goals, and FC Barcelona got three points on the road. 

Newcastle United would be disappointed not to bury the chances they got in the first 20 minutes of the match. 

Anthony Gordon's late goal did give them hope, but it was not good enough to earn any points. 

Tonali's shot from outside the box went straight to Garcia.

Tonali's right-footed attempt from outside the box went straight to Garcia.

Pedri and Lewandowski linked up inside the box, and Rashford had the chance to find the net. However, his shot was blocked by Schar, who is down after the head blow.

From the corner, the winger's header missed the target just by inches. 

No changes from either team.

Newcastle had the best chances of the match and started really well. However, they could not convert them into goals. 

Barcelona slowly progressed in the game but without any result. 

Big 45 minutes to come.

Burn gets the yellow card for a foul on Kounde.

Yellow cared for Gerrard Martin for a foul on Guimarães.

Gordon's cross from the left is blocked and deflected for a corner by Kounde. 

Raphinha goes for the goal with the free-kick. His shot went over the goal.

Pedri had found Lewandowski with a through ball, and Lewa's deflected shot had given Raphinha a chance to volley from close range.

On his Champions League debut, Garcia made another save as Elanga first made a quick run and then sent a perfect cross for Barnes.

But, Garcia dived to his left to make the save from Barnes.

A cross from the right and Lewandowski had the chance to head the ball inside the goal. But, Pope came out to punch the ball out of danger.

The home side have found quite a few ways to enter the final third. This time, Kounde deflected a cross from the left for Newcastle's first corner.

Barcelona were able to quickly release the ball and found Raphinha and Rashford linking up on the left. 

Rashford's shot though went wide.

Burnes and Tonali linked up well before Tonali took a chance with a cross booted shot. Garcia made his first save of the night.

Elanga's perfectly timed cross from the right found Gordon at the centre of the box. But Gordon could not connect the shot. Huge let off!

Luis Enrique can’t have wished for much more. A swashbuckling attacking display that included four goals and a well-deserved clean sheet.

After a league phase campaign fraught with jeopardy last time round, Paris start their quest for a second consecutive Champions League crown in the most consummate of ways.

As for Atalanta, they toiled and stuck to their task, but will now focus on picking up their first points against Club Brugge in two weeks time.

After something of a shaky start, Ajax managed to find their way back into the game. 

Ironically, they had the best chance of taking the lead – Yann Sommer saving expertly from Mika Godts – seconds before Marcus Thuram headed the visitors in front at the other end.

John Heitinga’s men will now have to commit more men forward in search of an equaliser, which could play into Inter’s hands.

A pair of penalties from Kylian Mbappé helped Real Madrid turn a deficit into victory in Xabi Alonso's first Champions League game at the helm. 

After withstanding early pressure from the hosts, Marseille struck first through Timothy Weah's emphatic finish, but Alonso's side were quickly level when Mbappé converted from the spot following a foul by Geoffrey Kondogbia on Rodrygo.

Although Madrid had Dani Carvajal sent off in the 72nd minute, Mbappé struck again with nine minutes left after Facundo Medina was penalised for handball.

Borussia Dortmund and Juventus shared the spoils after an eight-goal thriller in Turin that equalled the record for the highest-scoring Champions League draw.

Khéphren Thuram and Loïs Openda both went close for the hosts in the first half, before Karim Adeyemi’s 52nd-minute finish sparked the encounter into life.

Kenan Yıldız, Felix Nmecha and Dušan Vlahović all scored in a four-minute flurry before Yan Couto's powerful finish made it 3-2 to Dortmund.

The visitors looked to have sealed victory through Ramy Bensebaini's 85th-minute penalty, but Juventus rescued a draw in added time thanks to Dušan Vlahović's finish and a Lloyd Kelly header.

Qarabağ claim a historic win here in Lisbon – and few can argue with the result. Benfica were 2-0 up after 16 minutes, but after Leandro Andrade’s goal, the Azerbaijan champions grew in confidence and made the most of their momentum to level and ultimately win it in the closing stages. Garnacho, Joao Pedro and Gusto linked up for a good move but Kim was there at the right place to block the attempt.

Olise should score from there. 

Kane, with a cutback from the byline, had found Olise with nearly an empty goal to aim at. 

But, he looked a bit casual with the finish there, and Sanchez, with a big dive, made the save.

Huge chance for Harry Kane. 

Laimer made a good run in the middle and then found Kane. 

Kane nearly went one-on-one against Sanchez, but could not beat him from a tight angle from left of the box.

Kimich with a cross pass found Kane, and Kane's toed-pass found Diax on the left. 

However, Diaz's right-footed shot went straight to the Chelsea goalkeeper.

Neuer, who is now the oldest Bayern Munich player to play in the Champions League, makes an easy save as Reece James' timid shot went straight to him. 

Although we thought he was fine, but after a run, he is limping. 

The leg took a big blow after the tussle with Gusto. 

Boey has replaced him and goes to right-back. Laimer moves over to the left.

The Bayern defender is fine and is up and running, 

Stanisic is down after a tussle. He is getting medical attention.

Olise had lots of space to work with, and his cross from the right was deflected inside his own goal by Chalobah.
