Odisha FC continued their winning streak, securing a 1-0 victory against Hops FC in the IWL 2023-24 at the Bhubaneswar Football Academy, Unit-1, on Wednesday. Pyari Xaxa was the lone goal-scorer, finding the net skillfully in the 44th minute. Notably, Shreya Hooda's crucial save ensured Odisha FC maintained their impressive defensive record with a fourth consecutive clean sheet.

The match witnessed an impressive start from both teams, with the home side creating early opportunities. In the 6th minute, an attempt by Win with a header from Indumathi's corner was thwarted by the visitor's defender, denying Odisha FC the opening goal. Despite subsequent efforts, including a 25th-minute strike by Lynda and a 29th-minute attempt by Sanju Yadav, the Hops FC keeper made crucial saves, preventing the hosts from taking the lead.

The breakthrough finally came in the 44th minute when Win Theingi Tun's brilliant cross from the right found Pyari Xaxa, who jumped high to skillfully direct the ball into the net, securing the much-awaited goal for Odisha FC.

In the second half, Shreya Hooda's crucial save in the 49th minute denied Hops FC an equalizer, preserving Odisha FC's lead. Despite numerous attempts, including shots from Pyari, Win, and Sanju, the scoreline remained 1-0. The match concluded with Odisha FC maintaining their winning momentum.

Looking ahead, Odisha FC is set to face East Bengal FC at the East Bengal Ground in Kolkata on January 18, 2024.
