New Update

The end of the Premier League season is quickly approaching, which means that the attention will quickly turn to the summer transfer market. It could be a potentially significant summer window this year, with players looking to secure moves to ensure that they have the best chance of representing their respective nations at the World Cup in Qatar in November.

But, who are some of the stars that could move clubs when the transfer window re-opens?

Paul Pogba

It's likely to be a busy summer at Old Trafford, with the new incoming coach Erik ten Hag likely to move on players so that he can mould the squad in his image. One player that almost certainly looks set to leave the Theatre of Dreams this summer is Paul Pogba. The Frenchman is out of contract at the end of the current season, and it's looking increasingly unlikely that United will be willing to meet his wage demands.

His second stint at Old Trafford hasn't been as successful as many would have been hoping, as the 29-year-old has failed to reproduce the performances that he was putting in for Juventus in Serie A. This season, he has played 15 times for United and has scored just once.

Douglas Luiz

Aston Villa's target next season must be to finish in a European place. It's likely that the club will be willing to listen to offers for a number of first-team players, and WeLoveBrum has speculated that Douglas Luiz could be one of the players that the club moves on. The Brazilian has been at Villa Park since 2019 when he moved from Manchester City. He has been an important player in their squad since moving to the Midlands, as he has made 95 appearances across three seasons with the club.

The 23-year-old has made 25 Premier League appearances this season and has scored once and also registered three assists. However, Steven Gerrard could be willing to allow the Brazilian to leave, as the Villa look to bring in another defensive midfielder to make them harder to break down.

Antonio Rudiger

It has been an eventful season off the pitch throughout 2021-22 for Chelsea. However, the confusion surrounding who their potential new owners will be has meant that questions surrounding the long-term futures of some of their stars are up in the air. One player that many will believe that they can't afford to lose is German defender Antonio Rudiger.

The central defender will be available to leave on a free transfer at the end of this season, as his current deal expires. The Blues are yet to agree to terms on a new deal with the 29-year-old, who has been an integral part of their team since signing for the Premier League giants in 2017. During his career with Chelsea, Rudiger has won the Champions League, Europa League and FA Cup, and a number of Europe's leading sides are monitoring his situation as the summer approaches.
