Ansu Fati Transfer
At first Tottenham Hotspur seemed the most likeliest to sign Ansu Fati from FC Barcelona, earlier this week. Ange Postecoglou is trying everything in his power to fill up the goal scoring void which Harry Kane left and Daniel Levy seems to have his back.
But no one expected Tottenham to make a move for Ansu Fati, as he's often termed as "untouchable" by Barcelona coaches and representatives in the past. But when it happened, both the parties looked to be in negotiations which gave the normal people a hint of a possible transfer.
After a day or so, everything was set to be in place and there was also an agreement on personal terms which also led the journalists to report that the deal was "99 per cent done" in Premier League Transfer News.
However, yesterday it was reported by many journalists that Brighton have also shown some interest in signing the Spanish international. They've been in touch with Fati's camp but nothing came out of it as of yesterday.
Late yesterday, after Fabrizio Romano posted the "here we go" on Ansu Fati to Brighton, the whole footballing world was in shock. If it happens, it would be one of the most surprising transfers ever.
Brighton have said to be closing in on a season long loan for Fati, probably same as Tottenham because Barcelona are not there yet to loose full control of the player. De Zerbi is trying very hard to bring the Barcelona player on board and is said to be the key factor in the deal.
De Zerbi is said to be "in love" with the player and if the deal happens, Ansu Fati would become Brighton's most famous signing ever and an important player for the team too. As it stands, it seems like it would boil down to the player's choice.
Brighton might have an edge over Tottenham in terms of European football, which they qualified for after finishing 6th in the Premier League last season. Brighton would need to hurry up if they want to sign Ansu Fati as tomorrow's the deadline day.
