New Update

Five elite clubs from Italy, Spain and Mexico will be taking part in the inaugural Soccer Champions Tour that passes through four major cities in the United States.

Five mouth-watering matches played out in four cities across the US, including Las Vegas, San Francisco, Dallas and Los Angeles, will be taking place between July 22 and 30.

Soccer Champions Tour, a new marquee, global pre-season event, will feature the likes of three European powerhouses, including Barcelona, Real Madrid and Juventus.

North American elite in the form of Mexican heavyweights Club America and Guadalajara will be there to put their European counterparts to the test.

The tournament commences on July 22 with an exciting showdown between Juventus and Guadalajara at the Allegiant Stadium, Las Vegas.

Meet the clubs

After years of dominance of Spanish and European football inspired by Lionel Messi, Barcelona have faltered on the back of the Argentine's departure for Paris Saint-Germain.

Desperate to restore the Blaugrana to their former heights, head coach Xavi Hernandez will aim to kickstart his mission of getting his side back on the rails in the United States.

Unlike their arch-nemesis, Real Madrid enjoyed a stellar 2021/22 season, pipping Barca and Atletico Madrid to domestic supremacy while lifting a record-extending 14th Champions League crown.

Widely considered the biggest club in the world, Los Merengues fly over the ocean, hoping to build on a jaw-dropping last season.

Juventus have failed to win Serie A across the last two seasons following an eye-catching run of nine successive triumphs.

However, the record-time Italian champions are still one of the world's most prominent sides and will be out to prove their credentials.

For those unfamiliar with Mexican football, Club America have won 34 trophies throughout their illustrious history, including six top-flight titles.

As for Guadalajara, commonly known as Chivas, 12 league titles in Mexico's top division explains why they are one of the most popular teams in North America.

Match of the tournament

The latest edition of the famous El Clasico pits Barcelona against arch-rivals Madrid at the Allegiant Stadium, Las Vegas, on July 23.

Old adversaries are ready to rekindle their long-standing rivalry on a pre-season date in Nevada.

It will be the first pre-season El Clasico to take place on Unites States soil since Barcelona's 3-2 victory in 2017 as part of their International Champions Cup tour.

Momentum is now on Madrid's side, as Carlo Ancelotti's men head into the tournament as the reigning European and Spanish champions.

In the meantime, the Catalans will be looking to bounce back from their first winless season in a while and launch a new winning era under Xavi. As per Spanish publication Marca, all tickets for this highly-anticipated contest are already sold out, highlighting the attention El Clasico continues to draw despite Barca's downfall.
