Indian National team captain Sunil Chhetri posted a heartfelt message for the fans on Instagram after India's SAFF Championship victory in Bengaluru on Tuesday.

Sunil Chhetri talks about the immense support that the city of Bengaluru and fans all across India has shown across the entire SAFF Championship 2023.

The captain also talks about various fan clubs that have travelled from every corner of the country to support their national team in the SAFF Championship.

Even the Indian players were amused by the support they got for every match.

Sunil Chhetri specially mentions the Lebanon semi final game and the final against Kuwait were the crowd support played a massive role as both games saw the deep waters with two mouth-watering penalty shootouts that decided the games in India's favour.

A determined Team India edged Kuwait in a tense penalty shootout to clinch a record ninth SAFF Championship title in Bengaluru on Tuesday.

India finished with a score-line of 5-4 in the shoot-out after both sides were deadlocked 1-1 in 120 minutes in the summit clash.

After five rounds of penalty kicks the score-line remained 4-4 as sudden-death came into play.

Mahesh Naorem scored for India in the sudden death while India goalkeeper Gurpreet Singh Sandhu saved Khaled Hajiah's shot to help the team secure a thrilling win.
