Transfer News: Anthony Martial leaves United for Sevilla

According to the latest transfer news, Sevilla has confirmed the signing of Anthony Martial on loan till the end of the season. The France international was falling out of favor and made a smart move to get some game time for the 26-year-old.

"Sevilla FC and Manchester United FC have reached an agreement which will see Anthony Martial join the club on loan until the end of the current season," the La Liga side said in a statement.

The 26-year-old joins the La Liga side on a season-long loan. But the deal involves no loan fee, as they will pay his wages in full until the end of the season. Martial traveled from Paris to Seville on Tuesday to undergo medical.

Even though there were interests coming in from Barcelona and Juventus; Anthony Martial picked Sevilla to play as he knows that he will get more game time there.

In 2015, the French striker became the world's most expensive teenager when he joined United from Monaco.

However, the recent signings of Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho pushed Martial further down the pecking order. Not only that, but teenager Mason Greenwood is also above the 26-year-old. 

Anthony Martial has scored 79 goals in 269 appearances for Manchester United but has only appeared in just 4 games this season.

With this move, Martial is hopeful to re-igniting his career as he is just 26 years old and is also eyeing a comeback in the French National Team.
