UEFA Champions League transfers: Rules and regulations
As per the rules, the last 16 teams of UCL are allowed to register a maximum of three new eligible players during the winter transfer. However, the new players can be from any team. It does not matter if that player has played in the Champions League or not. It also does not matter if that player played in the same season for another club or not. This rule was changed in the 2018/19 season.
In addition to that rule, the club must communicate their desired squad changes by 24:00 CET on Wednesday 2 February at the latest.
