The Indian men's hockey team registered a well-deserved win in the FIH Hockey Pro League against the host on Wednesday. India defeated South Africa with a whopping 10-2 at Potchefstroom. The team is now sitting at the third position of the Hockey Pro League 2021-22 standings.

In the opening match of the campaign, India defeated France 5-0 and then moved on to defeat South Africa 10-2, followed by them reaching the third position in the table. The star of the night is none other than the newcomer Jugraj Singh (4', 6', 23'). He literally attacked in a blistering way and netted a hat trick. His immense contribution behind India winning such a high-scoring victory led him to win the Player of the Match award.
Also, Gursahibjit Singh (24', 36'), Dilpreet Singh (25', 58') netted twice. Harmanpreet Singh (2'), Abhishek (12'), and Mandeep Singh (27') scored as well. The Tokyo Olympics Bronze medallists were spectacular and started the game with a lethal attack. In fact, they got a penalty corner at the first minute of the game. The opening goal of Harmanpreet Singh set the pace and the team netted 3 more goals in the first quarter itself.
