Hockey Women's Hockey Women's Asia Cup 2022, starting from 21 January 2022, will witness clashes between 8 teams to clinch the trophy. Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Muscat, Oman is hosting the tournament from 21- 28 January. The defending champions, India will face China, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, and Thailand in the Asia Cup.

India seems to be in great form. Some players from the team were a part of India's historic 4th position at the Tokyo Olympic Games 2020. The India ace goalkeeper Savita Punia is the skipper of the team in the absence of Rani Rampal.

The tournament will be played in a two-pool format with classification matches that cross over. India is in Pool A, alongside Japan, Malaysia, and Singapore. Also, the top 4 teams from this marquee tournament will make a direct entry to the FIH Hockey Women's World Cup 2022 in Spain and the Netherlands.
