However, she was most successful with Portland Thorns, where in two spells she played 79 games, scored 15 goals and assisted 24 times while winning two NSWL Championships - one in 2015 and another in 2017.

Tobin Heath's football career was cut short due to injuries. She suffered a knee injury while playing for OL Reign in 2022. The injury was first told to be a minor one, but later turned out to be the one which ended her career.

The injury needed two major surgeries and two years long rehabilitation, but still, Heath could not be fit to play football again. In frustration, she had to cut her football career.

"I tried f---ing everything to get back, I spent tens of thousands of dollars and [had] two surgeries, one crazy surgery. And the whole time I believed I was going to get back," Heath stated on her podcast with partner Christen Press.

After three years of "accepting" that she would never play football again, Heath's 17-year-long career came to an end.

India vs England 3rd Test, Day 1: Even Gill's "boring test match" taunt could not bring out the BazBall

England scored 251, at just 3.02 runs per over, on Day 1 of India vs England 3rd Test at Lord's. Joe Root remained unbeaten, one short of his 37th test ton.

India vs England 3rd Test, Day 1: Even Gill's "boring test match" taunt could not bring out the BazBall | sportzpoint.com

At just 3.02 runs per over, an unlikely England under captain Ben Stokes and coach Brandon McCullum were seen on Day 1 of India vs England 3rd Test at Lord's. Even Shubman Gill's taunting "boring Test cricket" comment could not bring the BazBall of the England cricket team.

England finished Day 1 with 251/4 as Joe Root remained on 99 along with a struggling yet effective Ben Stokes on 39 from 102 balls at the other end.

Indian bowlers did pretty well to restrict English batters and bowled with discipline, except for Akash Deep, who went for 4.41 runs per over on Day 1.

Key Moments and Highlights of Day 1 of India vs England 3rd Test

After the defeat at Edgbaston, England wanted a pitch that had "something in it." However, it did not look like that on Day 1. The pitch looked dry and slow, which might favour India as every day progresses.

Ben Stokes won the toss and decided to bat first, which is very unlikely of them as they always want to chase scores in the fourth innings. But, with the dry and slow pitch in action, it might be good to bat in the third inning, rather than batting in the last inning.

Indian opening bowlers Jasprit Bumrah and Akash Deep did well, and it did not look like Akash Deep, who was coming from a historical 10-wicket haul, had any issues with the slope of Lord's. Oh, did I forget to mention that India had one change from Edgbaston - Jasprit Bumrah in place of Prasidh Krishna.

Nitish Kumar Reddy provided the early wickets for India

Despite a good start and a long spell from Bumrah, India had to wait till Nitish Kumar Reddy came into the bowling and struck twice in his first over to remove both the English openers. Ben Duckett (23) would consider himself unlucky to be caught down the leg side, while Zack Crawley (18) got a "spitting cobra" delivery from Reddy.

Ollie Pope would have been out first ball if Shubman Gill had caught a tough chance in the gully. But, from then on, the signals were in. The edges were not reaching the slips, and Gill once had to come so close that he wore a helmet.

The first session ended with England being on 83/2 after 25 overs.

England won the second session

Though Pope struggled to get going, on the other end, Joe Root was Joe Root - buying runs ball by ball, playing the way he does. Gill tried to break the partnership between Pope and Root with Bumrah in action, but that did not happen.

Meanwhile, India suffered a setback as Rishabh Pant got injured while grabbing a ball from Bumrah and had to be replaced by substitute keeper Dhruv Jurel.

The second session saw 70 runs without losing any wickets.

Bumrah and Jadeja provided breakthroughs for India

For India, the breakthrough finally came in the first over of the third season as Ravindra Jadeja produced an outside of Pope (44) and Jurel caught it beautifully to get England's third. Pope and Root had a 109-run partnership, which balanced the first session of the day.

Soon, Bumrah was called into action, and he rattled the stumps of Harry Brook, and everyone thought that Gill and company would have the doors open for a collapse.

Stokes plays through pain; Root closer to another ton

However, captain Ben Stokes, who has not scored a test century in the last two years, played an uncharacteristic inning to build an unbeaten 79-run partnership with Root.

Nitish Kumar Reddy nearly had Stokes out, but the DRS showed that India had to be satisfied with the Umpire's call, which was not out. Root meantime looked flawless against pace and spin.

In the final hour of the day, Stokes struggled with a groin injury and could not run, which stopped the flow of the run as well. With Joe Root on 99, and looking for his 37th test ton and 8th at Lord's, we are set for a big day tomorrow.

Former World No.1 Iga Swiatek finally proved her dominance on the grass court as she went past unseeded Belinda Bencic of Switzerland 6-2, 6-0 to reach her first-ever Wimbledon final. The Swiss star was no competition against the five-time Grand Slam winner as Swiatek enjoyed a comfortable final four win.

She will now face the USA's Amanda Anisimova in the Wimbledon 2025 women's singles final, in which both will be eying their first Wimbledon title.

Swiatek wants to break her Grass curse

Swiatek is one of the greatest clay court players of her generation, with four French Open titles, as well as her one US Open title. But she had always struggled on grass. That is why, before Wimbledon 2025, she had never reached the semis of Wimbledon.

But this time, she not only reached the final four, she has now given herself a chance to lift the Wimbledon 2025 title as well.

Iga started with power and dominance and had her first break in the second game. Soon, she was leading the first set by 3-0. And from then on, Bencic did try to fight, a 31% of attacking shots from Iga was too hot to handle for her.

With 12 winners, two break points won, Iga finished the first set with 6-2.

Second set: Iga did not drop a single game

But when everyone was hoping for a fightback from the Swiss, who was also playing her first Wimbledon semi-final, Iga levelled her game up.

In the second set, Iga did not drop a single game and went on to win the set by 6-0. She had 14 winners and had 33% attacking shots.

โ€œHonestly, I never even dreamt that it was going to be possible for me to play in the final, so Iโ€™m just super excited and just proud of myself,โ€ Iga said after winning the semis.

โ€œTennis keeps surprising me. I thought I had lived through everything, even though Iโ€™m young. I thought I'd experienced everything on the court. I didnโ€™t experience playing well on grass, so thatโ€™s the first time, and Iโ€™m super excited and enjoying it,โ€ she added.

The World No.8 is one step away from winning her maiden Wimbledon title. But she will be up against someone who will also be looking to win her first Wimbledon title.

โ€œShe must be playing great. With her game style, the surface fits her," Swiatek told about her opponent in the final, Amanda Anisimova.

โ€œAnyone who struggles and then gets back deserves a lot of respect," Swiatek did not forget to acknowledge Amanda's comeback from mental health struggles to the Wimbledon final.

25-year-old state tennis player from Haryana, Radhika Yadav, was allegedly shot down by her own father. As per reports, she and her father, 49-year-old Deepak Yadav, had disputes over social media posts and running a tennis academy.

Multiple reports suggested that the incident happened around 11.30 in the morning on Thursday at their own house. Her mother was on the ground floor while Radhika was in the kitchen.

Radhika Yadav was shot dead by her father at their home in Gurugram following a dispute reportedly related to a social media reel she had posted. Her father had a licensed .32 bore revolver, with which he shot her own daughter from behind.

Public relations officer of Gurugram Police, Sandeep Kumar, cited initial findings and said it appeared that the social media post led to the tension in the house.

He added that the weapon which was used in the crime was a "licensed revolver, and it has been recovered from the house".

"Police teams have visited the spot. The reason behind the crime is that the deceased ran a tennis academy, and her father was against it," Sandeep Kumar told news agency ANI.

Radhika was taken to a private hospital, but she eventually succumbed to her injuries. The suspect has been arrested, and the case is currently under investigation.

Rajender Kumar, Station House Officer (SHO) of Sector 56 Police Station, said the police got to know about the incident from the hospital. โ€œWe received a call from the hospital regarding a woman admitted with gunshot wounds. By the time we arrived, she had passed away. Statements from family members confirmed that the father was responsible,โ€ he said.

The series of upsets at Wimbledon 2025 continued as Amanda Anisimova upset world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 at Wimbledon on Thursday to reach the first Grand Slam final of her career.

Amanda became the third American woman to reach a Grand Slam final in 2025 after Madison Keys and Coco Gauff. She is now the youngest American woman to reach the Wimbledon singles final since Serena Williams in 2004.

Not to forget, Anisimova had taken a break from tennis after going through a mental battle. In May 2023, the American tennis star stepped away from tennis indefinitely, stating unbearable exhaustion and mental health struggles that had troubled her since mid-2022.

During her 8-month break, Anisimova dropped to the Global ranking of 442, but she always had the belief that she could make it to the top back then. However, she did not expect herself to be at a Grand Slam final so soon.

โ€œTo be honest, if you told me I would be in the final of Wimbledon, I would not believe you โ€“ especially not this soon. Itโ€™s been a year turnaround.

โ€œSo many dreams of competing on this court. Itโ€™s such a privilege. To be in the final is just incredible," Anisimova said after the match.

Anisimova was coming to the match with a remarkable 29-match opening set winning streak. So, if the American wins the first set, she takes the match as well. This is what happened in the first set as the 13th-seeded star broke first against Aryna Sabalenka and won the set by 6-4.

It was Anisimovaโ€™s backhand that caused all the problems for Sabalenka.

In the second set, the World No.1 came back and came back with a statement. Sabalenka broke first and took a 4-3 lead.

But Anisimovaโ€™s grit made it tough for Sablenka, but it was not enough to win the set. The three-time Grand Slam winner won the second set 6-4.

But, in the third set, Anisimova levelled her game up and brought all the grass court momentum, where she is now unbeaten for 12 straight games. Even Sabalenka's power game could not resist the American from winning back-to-back match points.

Right after missing three match points, and two hours and 36 tiring minutes, Amanda Anisimova entered her first Grand Slam final.

โ€œThis doesnโ€™t feel real right now,โ€ said Anisimova, as she waved at her family in her player box. โ€œI was dying out there. Aryna is such an incredibly tough competitor, such an inspiration to me and so many other players," she added.

On Saturday, she will face the winner of the second semi-final between Igaโ€ฏSwiatek and Belindaโ€ฏBencic.
