Karandeep Kochhar (Chandigarh) won the men's individual gold medal with a brilliant 21-under score in four rounds at the Kensville Golf and Country Club. His performance helped Chandigarh's team win the men's team gold as well while his teammate Anant Singh scored 16 overs. In women's individual golf, Avni Prashanth of Karnataka won the gold medal with a score of 288. They also played a key role in helping her team beat Haryana to gold.
Olympic bronze-winner Lovlina Borgohain and Commonwealth Games medal-winning pair of Mohd Hussamuddin and Jasmine Lamboria assured medals with victories in the quarterfinals in the boxing events at the Mahatma Mandir complex. National Championship silver medalists Ankit Sharma (Haryana), Sparsh Kumar (Punjab), Avinash Chandel (Himachal Pradesh), and Karan Rupini (Tripura) of Punjab also ensured medals in the men's 51kg category.
Defending champions Punjab and Haryana made it to the finals of women's hockey. In the semi-finals, Punjab beat Madhya Pradesh 2-1 while Haryana beat Jharkhand 5-2.
