The football off-season means the continuation of regular life for us football fans. During this time, kids may spend their time learning to ride a bike or watch a movie while their favorite players prepare for the pre-season. For Man United fans, the pre-season is likely to be an interesting one with their team visiting different parts of the globe.
The Reds will face six matches in 20 days, all of which will be played away, as they attempt to get the best preparation possible for the next season under new boss Erik ten Hag.
'What a way to start!' says United's new manager. The Red Devils will come face-to-face with Liverpool in Ten Hag's first match in charge on Tuesday, July 12, when they depart for Thailand. What an opportunity it is for our team - and what a challenge!
The following is the Australian leg of the tour, followed by two games at the world-famous Melbourne Cricket Ground, a stadium that can accommodate a capacity of 100,000 people! On July 15, Melbourne Victory will be the opposition for Perth Glory in a re-match of last season's A-League grand finale. They'll then face Crystal Palace on July 19.
On Saturday, July 23, Aston Villa will visit Perth's Optus Stadium to face another top-four rival in Premier League club, Everton. They previously visited the venue on their European tour the last pre-season, playing twice three years ago.
Atletico Madrid, the European conquerors from 2021/22, will be a difficult opponent in Oslo, where they'll play before our passionate Norwegian supporters at Ullevaal Stadium. On the following day, Ten Hag becomes the first manager in Old Trafford's illustrious history to take charge of the legendary dugout as they host La Liga side Rayo Vallecano.
Tickets for these matches are now available, with 10 percent of profits going to the Manchester United Foundation. Tour 2022 tickets may be purchased here, but don't worry if you can't make it to the matches; they'll all be broadcast live on MUTV*, ManUtd.com, and the Man United App.
Due to domestic broadcast rights, MUTV's live coverage is not available in Thailand and Australia.
