Mehuli Ghosh of West Bengal won the women's 10m Air Rifle T1 event on the fourth day of the National Shooting Trials (Rifle/Pistol) for Group A shooters at the Karni Singh Shooting Range on Wednesday.

In the gold medal match, Mehuli Ghosh registered a 17-9 win over Tamil Nadu's R Narmada Nithin. Narmada had topped the qualification with a quality of 633.5 after 60 shots, while Mehuli shot 631.2. Olympian Elavenil Valarivan, who won bronze, finished fifth in qualifying with 629.3. In the top eight, both Narmada and Mehuli topped the table with identical scores of 264.2 and clashed in the gold medal match.

Significantly, Mehuli's record so far has been excellent. She won the silver medal in the 10m team air rifle at the World Championship 2018. After this, in 2022, she won the bronze medal in the team air rifle event. Mehuli Ghosh also won the gold medal in 10m Air Rifles in South Asian Games 2019. Earlier in the Commonwealth Games 2018, she won the silver medal in the 10m air rifle.

On the other hand, Ankur Goel of Uttarakhand won the men's 25m Rapid Fire T2 event. He defeated Rajasthan's Bhavesh Shekhawat 29-25 in the medal round. Ankur finished fourth in qualifying with a score of 580. Here too, eventual silver medalist Bhavesh topped the list with 585. Bronze medalist Vijayveer Sidhu also finished fifth in qualifying with a score of 580. Bhavesh and Vijayveer then finished 1-2 in the first semi-final and were joined by Ankur and Anhad Jawanda who finished 1-2 in the second semi-final.
