The Maharashtra open 2022 is all scheduled to begin from January 31. Meanwhile, Newly paired Indian Tennis sensation Rohan Bopanna and Ramkumar Ramanathan have acquired a direct entry in the esteemed tournament.

Earlier this month, the duo was able to conquer the Adelaide International ATP 250 event. Having accomplished such wonder, the duo received their direct entry at the ATP tournament with a combined ranking of 156. The direct entry list contains 14 pairs with a cut off of 250.

In the year 2019, Rohan Bopanna was able to achieve the prestigious Maharashtra open title with the assistance of Divij Sharan. However, Ramkumar reached till semifinal at the same year with Purav Raja. Now this year, Ramkumar and Bopanna will continue to preserve their great start of the year till the finals and thrive further in a pair.

Tournament director Prashant Sur express his Admiration regarding this. In his words "It's always a great feeling to see Indians getting a direct entry at the Tata Open Maharashtra as our aim is to give Indian players that much-needed platform. This tournament has always witnessed Indians performing well in doubles and I hope it continues this year too. But not to forget, they will be up against a strong challenge for the title as we have got a strong field this year too".

The other players who have secured direct entries in singles and doubles main draws includes Lorenzo Musetti,Stefano Travaglia. Ricardas berankis and 2018 US open Semi-finalist Radu Albot are also in the list.
