Defending men's champion Djokovic will be on second at Centre Court. Novak Djokovic is a strong contender to walk away with yet another Wimbledon, yet another Grand Slam, and despite his advancing years he has made no suggestion that he is ready to walk away from tennis. Of course, everyone is expecting to see a Carlos Alcaraz v Novak Djokovic thriller at SW19 but for that to happen they have to negotiate the early stages, and for Djokovic, he needs to get past Australian Jordan Thompson.

Medvedev plays Briton Arthur Fery. While Top women's seed Iga Swiatek will face Sara Sorribes Tormo in her second-round match. Men's world No. 5 Stefanos Tsitsipas trails Dominic Thiem in their match which had been suspended after Tuesday's rain held up a host of games.

Women's world No. 8 Maria Sakkari will also be looking to make a strong start as she bids for a first Grand Slam title. Greece's Maria Sakkari is the top-seeded woman in action on Wimbledon 2023 Day 3 and she will be widely expected to navigate her way past Marta Kostyuk. The Ukrainian might expect a positive reception from the home ground given the strife in her country. Sakkari however is an experienced and talented player but there is reason to believe there is room for an upset. She has reached the semi-final of both the French Open and US Open. But she has yet to progress past the third round at SW19.

One significant change at Wimbledon this year will see the return of players from Russia and Belarus. The All England Club banned them a year earlier because of Russia's invasion of Ukraine with the help of Belarus in February 2022.

Four Grand Slams are held every year in tennis. It starts with the Australian Open in January. This is followed by the French Open in May and June, and Wimbledon in July, which is played on grass courts. The US Open is held in August-September, which is the last Grand Slam of the year.

The Wimbledon 2023 Day 3 matches will be telecast live on Star Sports network from the aforementioned times. Indian viewers can also live stream the match through Disney + Hotstar app and website. Here are the Big matches of the Day 2 of Wimbledon 2023. All times are in IST.
