Earlier, Niraj Chikara defeated Kyrgyzstan's Dastan Kadyrov 7-6 in the qualification round. After that, he lost to Iran's Imam Hossein Khoon Mohammadi in the quarter-finals with a score of 9-0 technical superiority.
