People were raising logans against Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the ongoing demonstration of wrestling wrestlers at Delhi's Jantar Mantar. After which the wrestlers have advised the agitators not to use the venue for political gain. Wrestler Bajrang Punia said that they are fighting for justice for the daughters of India, but some people are trying to present the protest as a 'provocative movement'.
Tokyo Olympics bronze medalist Bajrang Punia said, "Some people are trying to take our protest in a different direction so I want to tell you that we deny such things and we are here to fight for justice. We are here to fight for women. They are trying to twist the meaning of our protest. people who are here to support us they are here to ask for justice for women. There is no politics going on here because women come first, politics comes after that."
Talking to the media, Bajrang Punia said that politics and other things come later. But the dignity and respect of women come first. He appealed to the protesters not to join politics and said that this is a movement of players, so do not join any political party. In this case, Vinesh Phogat said, "We were accused of not playing nationals. I just want to say that the change in rules of national (competition) he is talking about are baseless. They are false and they are trying to break us. This is not about nationals it is about sexual harassment. Sports is different from it. You are facing allegations you should answer those questions."
