RCB have been struggling from the start of the tournament this season. Except for Virat Kohli and Dinesh Karthik, none has shown form consistently. Captain Faf du Plessis has not got himself going other than one match. Glenn Maxwell is far away from his best. In a nutshell, the team look worried. However, a fine inning from Rajat Patidar in the last match would certainly give them confidence. Despite scoring a lot of runs and holding the orange cap, pundits have criticised his strike rate at the end. Along with that, the team management has struggled to send batters at the right time which has been criticised by RCB fans and pundits too.

Read about Glenn Maxwell's last six innings in IPL 2024.

However, their main worry remains in the bowling order. Mohammed Siraj has not looked at his best and has not given the start with the new ball they have been looking for. They have tried Yash Dayal, Reece Topley, Akash Deep and Vyshak Vijaykumar as their pace variations, but except for Vyshak Vijaykumar, none has been that good so far in the tournament. Another reason they are struggling is that there is no top-class spin bowler in their squad to control the middle overs. Will Jacks did take two wickets in the last game but does not look like a four-over bowler. Glenn Maxwell and Mayank Dagar have been their main spinners in the middle order and they have not been that good as well.

In the last match, Glenn Maxwell hurt his fingers, but RCB's director of cricket Mo Bobat on Sunday said "Maxwell is okay at the minute and there are no injury concerns".

RCB have lost five out of their six games already and another defeat will push them towards elimination.

RCB vs SRH: Nitish Kumar Reddy looked solid in the last match for SRH against PBKS | sportzpoint.com

Unlike RCB, Sunriseres Hyderabad under Pat Cummings have been solid this season. Till now they have won 3 out of their five games and have been attacking throughout their inning, which has been appreciated and applauded by the fans so far. With Abhishek Sharma firing at the top for them along with Travis Head, they have scored more runs than any other teams in IPL 2024 in the powerplay. Though Aiden Markram and Heinrich Klassen failed against Punjab Kings in the last match, their new recruit Nitish Kumar Reddy has looked good in the middle with a stunning 37-ball 64. Along with that, with a batting lineup capable of batting till number 10, they can go all-out in the middle overs as well, which has helped them propel in this season till now.

In the bowling lineup, captain Pat has been exemplary along with Bhuvenshwar Kumar, who has always been their best bowler in any condition. Though Jaydev Unadkat has gone for runs, he has been given to do the dirty job of bowling at the death with his variations. T Natarajan has been good for them as well though he has gone under the radar this season. Shahbaz Ahmed has been their main bowler in the spin department with Aiden Markram, Washington Sundar, Mayank Markande, Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head can roll their arms over whenever needed.
