However, unfortunately, Maxwell could not add anything to the board as he went back to the dressing room after a golden duck. In the second match of IPL 2024, Glenn Maxwell again struggled, this time against the spin of Punjab Kings. Maxwell came to bat when RCB were looking good at 86/3 and hoped Maxwell to give them a solid finish. However, the all-rounder could only add 3 runs on the board in 5 balls. He was dismissed by Harpreet Brar while trying to make room and drive the ball on the off-side.

Glenn Maxwell scored his highest run in IPL 2024 against Kolkata Knight Riders. In the match, dominated by Virat Kohli at the top, Maxwell came to the crease at 82/2 and scored 28 from 19 balls. He was dismissed by Sunil Narine in the 15th over as he tried to go hard and managed to get a top edge to Rinku Singh at short third.

Maxwell scored his second duck of IPL 2024 against Lucknow Super Giants in Bengaluru. In the second inning of the match, Maxwell could not handle the pace and aggression of Mayank Yadav. Maxwell tried to manufacture a shot in the second ball against Yadav's 151 kmph short delivery and only managed to get the top edge to Nicholas Pooran.

In the match against Rajasthan Royals, Glenn Maxwell was given a promotion in the batting order to find his lost form. However, that did not change his fortune as he played only 3 balls batting at number three and was dismissed by Nandre Burger for 1. After the inclusion of Will Jacks, Maxwell was dropped to number five in the batting order. However, that did not work for him as well. Shreyas Gopal, the leg-spinner trapped Maxwell in front of the wicket with a googly. Maxwell, who tried to play the ball towards mid-wicket missed the ball completely and even the DRS could not save him.
