Bahrain Para-Badminton: Pramod Bhagat secured two golds and one bronze in the men's singles and doubles event

Paralympic champion Pramod Bhagat won the men's singles and doubles titles in SL3 and SL3 and SL4 respectively at the Bahrain Para Badminton International tournament in Manama on Tuesday.

Pramod Bhagat defeated India's Indian Nitesh Kumar by 21. 16, 21 to Win gold in the SL3 singles event. After this, along with Sukant Kadam, Pramod defeated Nitesh and Tarun 22. 24, 21. 9, 21 and won the yellow medal. Moreover, Pramod Bhagat and Manishaa Ramdass also won a bronze medal in the mixed doubles SL3-SU5 category.

"I am happy with my performance in the tournament. I was playing well and was implementing everything I had trained and planned. In the doubles Nitesh and Tarun pushed us and I am happy the way we responded and finished the match. I am happy with my doubles performance in this tournament, though I cannot say the same about the singles games. I know things where I need to improve and will start work on the same." Pramod Bhagat said.

Meanwhile, India's Thulasimathi Murugesan won the silver medal in women's singles SU5 while Krishna Nagar won the silver in men's singles SH6. However, Suhas Yathiraj went down fighting in the SL4 finals to capture the silver medal in SL4. Chirag Baretha and Raj Kumar got silver medal in men's doubles while Manasi Joshi and Thulasimathi Murugesan got silver medal in women's doubles. In DSH 6 category, Rachana Patel and Nithya Sre won silver medals.
