Manchester United are allowing Antony to return to training

Manchester United released an official statement saying that their Brazilian winger Antony will resume training with the club. The statement informed that Antony will also be available for selection. He was earlier accused of physical aggression towards his former girlfriend Gabriela Cavallin. The Brazillian winger was on a leave of absence from Manchester United since September 10.

Antony will join the training of Manchester United first team

"Since allegations were first made in June, Antony has cooperated with police inquiries in both Brazil and the UK, and he continues to do so. As Antony's employer, Manchester United has decided that he will resume training at Carrington. He will be also available for selection, while police inquiries proceed. This will be kept under review pending further developments in the case. As a club, we condemn acts of violence and abuse. We recognise the importance of safeguarding all those involved in this situation, and acknowledge the impact these allegations have on survivors of abuse," an official statement shared by Manchester United.

Antony was last featured in a competitive game in a Manchester United jersey during a 3-1 Premier League loss to Arsenal on September 3. He has been in Brazil since reporting for national team duty following the defeat to Arsenal. He was withdrawn from the squad by the Brazil Football Confederation (CBF).

Antony flew back to England from Brazil and he agreed to meet the Greater Manchester Police to face questions about the allegations leveled against him. The article went on to claim that Anton. He has already denied the charges. He wanted to surrender his phone to Greater Manchester Police to make the investigation process smooth.

"I can calmly state that the accusations are false and that the evidence already produced and the other evidence that will be produced demonstrate that I am innocent of the accusations made," the 23-year-old stated on social media.

Final verdict

It was eventually a boring, actionless Manchester Derby where both teams could have been better. City lacked the depth in their attacking front, while United could not take the chances in the second half.

Zirkzee tried his best to do some damage in the second half, while Bruno was the best player on the field and won the Player of the Match award as well.

But, in the end, both teams looked like the Premier League is done for them, and they now need to end the season as quickly as possible.

This was Koushik Biswas with the real-time updates for you. I hope you enjoyed the coverage.

Thank you. See you in the next match.

Following the sacking of Dorival Junior as the head coach of the Brazil national team, a move that was prompted by the Selecao's significant 1-4 defeat to Argentina in the World Cup 2026 qualifiers, the media commenced speculations discussing potential replacements.

Besides Carlo Ancelotti, Jorge Jesus has also been named as a potential candidate. However, The 70-year-old Portuguese coach has responded to these rumours, denying any negotiation with CBF to be appointed as the next head coach of Brazil, discarding the possibility as of now.

In an interview with UOL, Jesus, who is currently at the helm of Saudi club Al-Hilal, assured that he has not been contacted by anyone from the Brazilian Football Federation. "No one has spoken to me, at least until today," he stated.

The 'Globo' network has indicated that Al-Hilal head coach Jorge Jesus is the front-runner to become the head coach of the Brazilian national team.

The network also pointed out that Jorge Jesus is not keen to leave his position at Al-Hilal since he expects to stay with the Saudi Pro League side until the end of the AFC Champions League Elite, which concludes on May 3, 2025.

Further, the network added that Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti was the initial choice; however, he is not ready to leave his present job before the end of the 2025 Club World Cup.

The Portuguese coach aims to lead Al-Hilal to triumph in the AFC Champions League Elite and might consider stepping down before the Club World Cup to assume the coaching duty at the Brazilian national team.

This development might be a hurdle for Neymar Jr, who reportedly had a strained relationship with the Portuguese coach.

Their stint together at Al-Hilal was filled with challenges, ending with Neymar leaving Al-Hilal to join Santos under controversial circumstances after being informed that he was not part of Jesus's long-term vision for the team.

When asked on the 'Charla Podcast' about the possibility of reuniting with Jesus in the national setup, Neymar seemed visibly uncomfortable and opted to answer otherwise. "I have nothing to do with this. I'm just a player; don't involve me in this. I'm out," he stated.

However, Jorge Jesus opened up about his relationship with Neymar. In the interview with UOL. "I have no issues with Neymar, but no club or national team can depend on individual players," the coach said, dismissing any conflicting triggers.

Liverpool 'would encourage' Darwin Nunez's exit if Saudi interest renews-sportzpoint.com

Liverpool FC is reportedly on the verge of arranging Darwin Nunez's departure from Anfield this summer if the Saudi Arabian revives its interest in the striker.

The Uruguayan striker had moved to the Reds from Portuguese giants Benfica in a deal worth up to Ā£85 million back in the summer transfer window of 2022.

With a struggling season continuing for him at the Merseyside club, Nunez is believed to be out of new coach Arne Slot's plans and will look to rejuvenate his career in the Gulf.

Nunez's Liverpool career has been affected by difficulties, as he has found it hard to establish himself in the club throughout his early years.

In his three years at the Merseyside club, he has scored 40 goals in 136 games across all competitions, but this season has been the most disappointing so far for the 25-year-old, as he has scored just seven times across all competitions.

With the direction of new head coach Arne Slot, Nunez has found himself out of favor, another contributing factor to speculation about his future.

Renowned Football Transfer journalist Duncan Castles broke the news on the latest episode of 'The Transfers Podcast' that Liverpool would accept a big Saudi Arabian offer and would be willing to urge Nunez to leave if they come back for him. Castles stated:

Liverpool would be happy if the Saudis came in and would encourage a move for Nunez. They would like to get some kind of significant return on the initial ā‚¬75 million that they paid Benfica three years ago.

ā€œFrom the Saudi perspective, [Nunez] still has that ability to be a name within the Saudi game and to deliver goals with his physicality. Interestingly, Iā€™m told that his girlfriend, Lorena Manas, who is the ex-wife of former Barcelona player Aleix Vidal, has been working with agents to explore opportunities elsewhere.

ā€œSo it looks like this is both sides pushing against the same door with Nunez, or at least Nunezā€™s partner, encouraging him to look for a move and Liverpool happy to sell the player with a strong, affluent potential buyer in Saudi Arabia.

Interestingly, it had been hinted that Saudi Pro League club Al Nassr had made a substantial annual deal of ā‚¬35 million towards Nunez back in January, having already made an offer of Ā£58 million for the forward.

According to reports, Nunez's girlfriend, Lorena Manas, has also been working closely with agents to look into possible transfers in mutual consent, implying a joint pressure for a potential move.
