Delhi's Sonam achieved the distinction of becoming the champion with a national record in the 2000m steeplechase at the Khelo India Youth Games.

Athletes from Delhi won seven medals in the Khelo India Youth Games 2022. In athletics, the players here won four gold, two silver, and one bronze medals. Moreover, in athletics, Madhya Pradesh won the overall championship in the boys' category and Maharashtra won the girls' category. In the medal tally, Maharashtra is at the first position with 79 medals including 26 gold medals. Haryana is second with a total of 53 medals including 22 gold and host Madhya Pradesh is third with 21 gold medals. Madhya Pradesh also has 53 medals.
