Arsenal vs Newcastle United, Premier League 2025/26 Highlights: Eze's strike pulls unconvincing Arsenal back to top of the table with a 1-0 win

"It was tough – very tense, very physical, and especially for me, playing 90 again was tough – but we did everything we could, and we got the win. That’s the most important thing."

Fist bumps from Mikel Arteta. Anything but convincing for Arsenal but they will take full three points and head back to the top of the table after playing one more game than Manchester City.

It is Eze's goal that gives them the 1-0 win.

Last chance for Newcastle as Hincapie fouled Elanga

Newcastle United win the corner, and Pope was asking whether he should go for the header or not. Poor delivery wasted the chance for Newcastle. 

They should have scored here.

Hincapie won the ball on their half and then played a long ball for Gyokeres to make a run and find Saka right to his shoulder. But Barnes made the interception at the right time for Newcastle United. 

First, Arsenal wanted a free-kick for a challenge on Martinelli. Then Saliba fouled Woltemade, and we saw a few bodies on the ground on the byline, too. 

Yes, you read that right. Seven minutes added as injury time.

Good save from Pope as Odegaard's left-footed attempt from right of the box was on target.

Elanga replaced Willock.

Rice gets the yellow card for a foul on Burn.

Havery Barnes with a delicious cross from the right, but Dan Burn could not make use of that with his header.

From the corner, after a rebound, Martinelli found himself in a position to go for the overhead kick. Unfortunately it went straight to Pope.

Saka's left-footed attempt from the edge of the box is deflected for a corner by Burn.

Saka, Lewis-Skelly replaced Madueke and Zubimendi, respectively. 

Great delivery from Woltemade as he popped the ball from the D to find Wissa at the edge of the box, whose volley went over the goal. Huge relief for Arteta. 

Nico González scored, which looks like a late winner for Manchester City to reach the FA Cup final.

Huge error from Pope as he came out to clear out a long ball from deep. He overran and did not make contact with the ball, and then went on to foul Gyokeres.

He gets the yellow card as Thiaw was there and it did not look like a clear goal scoring opportunity. 

Good work from him to be in that shooting zone, inside the box. However, he could not connect the ball properly to beat Pope

As we were talking about Man City, they equalised a few minutes after conceding the goal. Doku scores for them in the FA Cup semi-finals against Southamption. 

Martinelli gets the yellow card for a foul on Wissa.

After Bruno's free-kick went straight to Raya, his long throw had found Martinelli making a quick run on the right. 

However, Tonali recovered well to intercept.

Harvey Barnes replaces Jacob Murphy.

Yoane Wissa replaces William Osula.

This is the best chance of the second half. Rice, on the run, should have pulled the trigger, but Thiaw made the interception as he took time before trying to go for the glory. 

It looks like two teams that have not won anything in their last three games. Arsenal have not been able to get the ball for long, while Newcastle does not have enough to produce the goal. 

Another corner for the home side as Burn deflects Madueke's cross. 

Hincapie's foot caught Murphy on the back of the head and we have a break.

Burn fouled Rice on the right of the box. Rice, from the free-kick, laid the ball down for Madueke to go for the goal. 

His shot hit the Newcastle United wall before Pope grabbed the ball off a cross by Rice. 

Already 21 goals from set pieces, and Hincapie nearly made it to 22 as Rice's free-kick found him inside the box. However, it was a bit long for him to control.

Looks like Eze is down and will be out. Thomas Tuchel will be in the really deep thoughts seeing the English star getting subbed off with a few months away from the World Cup. 

This time, they took the time and wanted to wait for the mistake from Arsenal. However, Arsenal did well to keep the ball out of the threat. 

Ben White with a long cross from the right. The cross was volleyed towards the centre from the left of the box by Hincapie. However, Eze could not connect his header properly off that volley. 

A check is going on as we have a break in the game. Not sure what it was, but the referees made some communications. 

Newcastle United start the second half.

Players are coming out of the tunnel and we are ready to start the second half. 

Nothing much to talk about except for the goal by Eze. 

Newcastle made the runs on the flanks and did their best to break into the Arsenal half. Arsenal have been a bit average since that goal, and the game is surely not over.

Since that goal by Eze, Newcastle United have looked better. Arsenal looked to build up and wait for the mistake, while Newcastle made the quick moves and had eight shots. 

Saliba fouled Bruno, and Newcastle had a great chance to score via a free-kick before the first half whistle.

Burno's short-kick gave Tonali a chance to go for the goal from the middle of the box. However, he could only hit the wall. 

Fans have been a bit muted in the last few minutes, but they have started finding their sound back as we reach the final five minutes of the first half. 

The youngster was at Newcastle's half a few seconds ago, trying a cross. Now, he finds himself on their own half, making an interception on the byline.

Havertz needs medical attention and looks like he will be replaced. 

We have a break in the game as Willock is down with an injury.

That's a great save from Raya.

From the corner, Tonali had the chance to go for a volley from the edge of the box. The wobbly ball nearly had outfoxed the Arsenal goalkeeper. 

Nice run from Willock on the left. However, his cross for tall Burn was deflected away for a corner by Saliba.

Fans rose to a standing ovation as Saka started his warmups. He missed the last five matches for Arsenal. 

Chance for Arsenal as they built the attack from their half, and Odegaard and Zubimendi linked up well. However, Newcastle United were just able to clear the ball inside the box. 

Guimaraes's free-kick was blocked by Arsenal's wall. But the rebound ball went to Ramsey, whose volley from inside the box went outside the box. 

Nice run from Madueke as Zubimendi's lobbed ball was allowed to recieve by Newcastle defenders. 

However, he went for a long shot, which was not good enough to beat Pope.

Willock was looking for a bit of curl there with his right-footed attempt from left. However, it went straight to Raya. 

Gabriel with a lobbed ball for Havertz to make the run. However, the ball was a tad long as Pope was able to come outside the box and clear it out. 

The visitors have looked positive after conceding the goal. 

Two attempted crosses towards Burn could have been more threatening. Tonali, meanwhile, is trying to control the middle by playing a bit down.

Eze does it from the corner. 

Short corner again from Arsenal, and Havertz laid it in the perfect place for Eze to shoot and find the top corner with a curling effort. Eze's 10th of the season for Arsenal. 

Arsenal take the lead. 

Madueke with the ball and entry into the final third. However, Thiaw came running and made the challenge to send the ball for another corner. 

Another short corner taken by Arsenal, and this time, Eze had the chance to shoot with his left-foot from edge of the box. He missed the target. 

Last corner was taken short, and Madueke's cross was deflected away for a corner. 

Odegaard ran through the pitch and then laid it wide out for Havertz to go for a cross. 

However, he could not deliver the cross as it was deflected for a corner. 

 Bruno Guimarães would be disappointed here with his shot from outside the box. He would have loved to at least be on target.
