According to a report by TOI, Afghanistan is all set to have a tour of India after the WTC final. Although the fixture of the series hasn't been confirmed yet, there will be an announcement of the schedule soon. Afghan tour is likely to be placed before men in blue to travel the Carribean island for an all-format tour.
Afghanistan is under the Taliban regime and their team isn't able to travel to major countries to play the game. Also, the Taliban are not supporting the women's cricket team of Afghanistan, and their full membership is in doubt.
The BCCI has a friendly relationship with the Afghanistan Cricket Board. Earlier Afghans have used some of the Indian venues like Dehradun and Greater Noida for playing their home matches. The Afghan tour of Australia also pulled out in 2020 due to the pandemic. And later on, Cricket Australia also pulled out of their bilateral series against Afghanistan in 2023. This happened due to the participation in BBL of a major star like Rashid Khan was threatened.

The Indian cricket team is all set to start their international matches with the Caribbean tour just after the IPL. They have to play 2 tests, 3 ODIs, and 5 T20Is against West Indies in July. Before this tour, Team India has the fixture of the WTC 2023 final at Oval, London from 7th to 11th June.
The last time Afghanistan played against India was in 2018 when they have a thrashing defeat by innings and 262 runs. And, this Afghanistan tour of India after the WTC final will be a boost to the country after the Taliban takeover in August 2021.
