Mohammed Shami 4/7 against Delhi Capitals, 2023:

Mohammed Shami picked four wickets as DC lost half their side in their IPL 2023 match against GT in Ahmedabad. Shami struck in the very first ball of the match to get rid of Phil Salt, who was caught by David Miller at cover. He then struck again in the fifth ball of the third over, removing Rilee Rossouw who was edged and caught by wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha. Shami continued running riot, removing Manish Pandey and Priyam Garg in the same over. He finished his spell with 4-0-11-4.

Dhawal Kulkarni 4/8 against Royal Challengers Bangalore, 2016:

In the 1st Qualifier of IPL 2016, Royal Challengers Bangalore had to chase down a target of 159 to move to the IPL Finals. Gujarat Lions' Dhawal Kulkarni made the job tough for the home team as he took 4 wickets while bowling 3 overs inside the powerplay. He only gave away just 8 runs. RCB however managed to win the match in the end by 4 wickets.

Ajit Chandila 4/9 against Pune Warriors India, 2012:

Off-spinner, Ajit Chandila pulled attention with his hat trick in the 60th match of the IPL 2012 against Pune Warriors India. Rajasthan Royals posted a total of 170 after deciding to bat first. Chandila dismissed Jesse Ryder and Sourav Ganguly respectively in the first over while defending the total. He went on to dismiss Robin Uthappa on the first ball of his next over. Chandila took a total of 4 wickets in the 3 overs he bowled inside the powerplay. He only gave away 9 runs as RR went on to win the match by 45 runs.

Shoaib Akhtar 4/11 against Delhi Daredevils, 2008:

The Rawalpindi Express wreaked havoc (4/11) with his breathtaking pace. He emerged as the best player in the contest that took place in 2008. The stage was set for Shoaib Akhtar's debut in the Indian Premier League and he couldn't have asked for a more fairytale beginning. He dismissed Sehwag, Gambhir, AB de Villiers, and Manoj Tiwary to complete the quota.

 Ishant Sharma 5/12 against Kochi Tuskers Kerala, 2011:

Indian pacer, Ishant Sharma recorded his best bowling figures inside the powerplay in the IPL history. In the 32nd match of the IPL 2011, while defending a small total of 129,  Deccan Chargers bowlers Ishant Sharma and Dale Steyn joined forces as they dismantled the Kochi batting lineup. Sharma took 5 wickets in the powerplay while giving away just 12 runs. He scalped the wickets of Mahela Jayawardene, Parthiv Patel, Raiphi Gomez, Brad Hodge & Kedar Jadhav.
