Afghanistan’s 23-year-old pacer Naveen-ul-Haq has become the centre of attention of the media after an on-field spat with former Indian skipper Virat Kohli. After Royal Challengers Bangalore’s victory against Lucknow Super Giants in a low-scoring affair in Lucknow, things went wrong somehow and the heated arguments are not going to stop for a while. Lucknow won the first clash in Bangalore but RCB came strong and won the Lucknow battle in the 43rd match of IPL 2023.

IPL 2023: Heated Arguments between Naveen, Virat & Gautam Gambhir during the LSG vs RCB clash

LSG were chasing 127 runs against RCB in the 43rd match of IPL 2023 but they were not in a good position. The target was short but it wasn’t short on drama as it saw LSG pacer Naveen-ul-Haq in a war of words with aggressive Virat Kohli during the 17th over of the second innings. Their spat continued even after the conclusion of the game, which even caught the attention of LSG’s mentor and former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir.

After the end of an absolute drama on the field, the Afghanistan pacer reportedly told one of his LSG teammates that he was not going to take any abuse on the field from anyone. Basically, he was explaining his on-field reactions during the game against RCB.

“I have come here to play in the IPL, not to take abuse from anyone,” Naveen told one of his LSG teammates.

The Afghanistan bowler extended the battle by going into social media where he wrote on his Instagram story: “You get what you deserved that’s how it should be and that’s how it goes.”

BCCI took strict action against Naveen and Kohli. They charged Virat 50 percent of his match fees as a fine. Naveen had to hand over his entire match fees. Gambhir too got nothing but to return 100 percent of his match fees for his heated arguments with Kohli after the Naveen incident during handshakes. Words were shared, and fingers were raised in what turned out to be a heated affair at the Ekana Stadium before the teammates intervened to separate the two.
