Bio-bubble Breach: Kusal Mendis, Danushka Gunathilaka and Niroshan Dickwella likely to face 1-year bans

Three Srilankan Cricket players could face upto 1 year ban after they admitted to allegations of Bio-bubble breach during the ongoing series against England

Sri Lanka Cricket has suspended Niroshan Dickwella, Kusal Mendis and Danushka Gunathilaka. Because the three players admitted to allegations of Bio-bubble Breach in Durham on Sunday night. Authorities have already dropped the trio from England series and will drop them from the upcoming series against India.

Although the trio has flown back immediately to Srilanka as per orders, the series against England is not in jeopardy. They were immediately sent on a 14-day quarantine after landing in Srilanka. On completion of the quarantine regulations, they will then have to face an inquiry into the incident that took place in Durham on Sunday.

Overnight, a video had emerged showing Mendis and Dickwella out in a public place. Gunathilaka was not present in the video, but the three admitted to the bio-bubble breach.

"They are likely to get a minimum one-year suspension if found guilty of several breaches of their contract," one official told AFP, speaking on condition of anonymity.

The Srilankan team has been recently facing a lots of criticism after the 3-0 white wash in the T20 series. Consequently, this will act as a catalyst for the flames. The already weakened Srilankan team lost its first ODI to England, and now losing their key players will hurt them more.
