India vs Australia 3rd Test was bound to happen in one of the most idyllic venues in World Cricket, Dharamshala. HPCA has only hosted a single Test match in 2017. Although it has hosted T20Is and One-day Internationals regularly. India beat Australia to take the early lead in the Border Gavaskar Trophy at Nagpur. If one series consists of 4 or 5 matches then the third match is always so important. Dharamshala is just the perfect place to battle. Due to some incomplete works in the field, The venue is going to be shifted from Himachal.

The HPCA had relaid the entire outfield, including the pitch. Though the pitch is untested, it shouldnโ€™t be a major concern. The small patch near the square is yet to be completed and that is the cause of worry.

The Dharamshala Stadium is one of the idyllic & highest sports venues in world cricket. HPCA hosted only one Test in 2017 involving India and Australia. The HPCA made plans to relay the entire outfield keeping the local weather conditions in mind. The relaying work started at the end of the monsoon.

Usually, when the pitch and the outfield are relaid, the common practice is to test it during a match. But so far that hasnโ€™t happened, the official said. Himachal played their home matches at Nadaun as the work continued at Dharamshala for the Ranji Trophy home games.
