Groups at the CWG 2022
Group A features Australia, India, Barbados, and Pakistan, and Group B features England, New Zealand, South Africa, and Sri Lanka. Hosts, England were handed a direct qualification, and the six highest-ranked teams too directly made it to the mix for the Games. Sri Lanka underwent a qualifier that was played early this year in Malaysia, it saw them hand Bangladesh a 22-run defeat to make it to the vacant, 8th spot for the Commonwealth Games.
A growing rivalry in women's cricket between Australia and India will be the curtain-raiser on the 29th of July. With double headers on every match day, Pakistan will face Barbados later on the same opening day, the 29th of July.
