2022 IPL mega auction is all set to be hosted in Bengaluru in February with some renowned cricketers who have not been retained. There are many assumptions and suspicions regarding the Australian and English cricketers in the IPL mega auction. In between all these, Australian Test Skipper confirmed his participation in the upcoming 2022 IPL mega auction. He also revealed that he is ready to play in IPL 2022 if everything goes well.

Cummins also said that cricketers should individually be aware of their workload and what they are signing up for. Cummins shared as quoted by Cricket Australia, "I've signed up for the auction at this stage. I'll probably have a bit more of a think about it before that auction date. At this stage, I plan to do the IPL. I have no advice for anyone else. I think you've got to be aware of (workloads), it could be a lot of time on the road, some people manage that better than others".

He further added, "You have to know what you're signing up for. It could be a long-ish winter but the last couple of winters have been quite at home. The traditional tours are still a little way away, it will be bubbles for a little bit longer. Everyone has to be aware of it."

The Australian pacer made headlines in the 2020 IPL auction where KKR picked him for INR 15.50 crore. He played 37 matches in this tournament and scalped 38 wickets with an average of 30.13. He started his journey as the captain of the Australian test team with a blast. Australia thrashed their opponents, England, in the Ashes and won the title by a margin of 4-0.
