Shami gets his fourth wicket of the match and it's too easy for the Men in Blues at Wankhede. Mathews plays late and the ball goes past his bat to crash onto the stumps. Mathews departs after scoring 12, highest scorer today for Sri Lanka until now.

Siraj and Sri Lanka is a lovely affair but not for both parties. Bumrah scalped the wicket of Nissanka in the first delivery of the inning and then Siraj dismissed Karunaratne and Samarawickrama in the 2nd over.

India ended on 357 runs. Sri Lanka will have to chase 358 runs in 50 overs with 7.16 runs per over.

Madushanka removed set batter Shreyas Iyer on 82 in his last over of the spell to get his fifth wicket.

Theekshana's length outside the off-stump delivery takes an outside edge and runs down the short third for four. Iyer brings up his half-century - his second at this World Cup. A crucial knock to boost his confidence. 

Surya misses the pull and Mendis appeals as he goes for another review. Out. A spike on Ultra edge as the ball passes the glove and Madushanka has his fourth wicket.

Rahul mistimed the drive and hit it straight to Hemantha at cover. Chameera gets his first wicket of the match. Kl Rahul returned to the dressing room after starting quite brilliantly.

Sri Lanka have lost the opportunity to capitalize on Gill and Kohli's dismissal. Rahul and Iyer looking in the zone to provide the Indian innings with the finishing touches.  

A slower one pitched from round the wicket which was full and outside the off stump and Kohli looked to work it through covers. But he lofted it straight to mid-off. Back-to-back wickets for the left-armer in quick succession. 

Gill looks to go over the field behind with an upper cut but gets it straight to Kusal Mendis behind the wicket. The partnership is broken

A run-a-ball 150-run partnership from Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill. They have been excellent on this wicket and kept on hitting bad balls for boundary.

Theekshana in introduced after the end of first powerplay. He went for eight in his first over. There's no spin as of now and Virat Kohli looking at his best handling both spin and pace.

India 85/1 after 15. Kohli 39 off 41 and Gill 34 off 41.

The bowling changed has not worked for Sri Lanka. Rajitha and Mathews have not been able to find the right spot yet and both Kohli and Gill are taking advantage of that.

India 57/1 after 9 overs. Virat Kohli 26 from 25 and Gill 21 from 27.

Tough but surely a chance for Sri Lanka and Chameera. Kohli tried to play the ball to the legside and gets a leading edge back to the Chameera who could not hold on to the edge.

Manushanka has been good with the new ball in ICC World Cup 2023. As he tried to bring the ball back into the right-handed Kohli; the master opened up his stance and let the ball come into him.

A four and a single in Madushanka's second over and Kohli looking to be focused for the occasion.

But, it is Dushmantha Chameera who is keeping it and allowing Madushanka attack more with fuller length. Chameera has already bowled two back-to-back maidens and nearly had Kohli with an inside edge!
