KKR vs CSK: IPL 2023 Match Report
Kolkata had a poor start after coming down to chase a huge total like that. Akash Singh picked up the wicket of Sunil Narine in the first over for a duck. Tushar Deshpande then sent Jagadeesan home in the second over. Rana & Venkatesh Iyer managed to control the game a little bit. Moeen Ali removed Iyer for 20 in the 8th over as Kolkata lost their third wicket under 50 run mark.
Jason Roy came into the pitch and his blistering inning brought KKR into the match for the first time. Although Jadeja scalped the wicket of the skipper Nitish Rana and CSK were in full control, Roy went on and on. He had an injury during fielding but despite that injury, he played a pivotal part in the run chase. Theekshana finally came with the breakthrough of Jason Roy in the 15th over. Roy played his part with an amazing 61 runs consisting of 5 fours & 5 sixes in just 26 deliveries.
Rinku Singh played another brilliant inning and he has been consistent throughout this season for Kolkata. He scored another half-century and kept Kolkata in the chase but chasing a total of 236 runs, needs a team performance. Rinku Singh didn't get that help and as a result, Chennai Super Kings registered their third consecutive victory of the season and climbed to the top of the table with 10 points.
