Former Kiwi opener Martin Guptill has scored the fifth most runs in the shortest format of the game, 3531 runs in 122 matches (118 innings). Irish batsman Paul Stirling holds the fourth place on the list of amassing the most runs in the T20I cricket. He is the backbone of the Ireland team. His career is 15 years as of 2024 (2009-2024). He played his first T20 international match against Pakistan in 2009. At a strike rate of 134.68, Stirling has made 3600 runs in 144 games(143 innings). Stirling has recorded 23 half-centuries and one century in the shortest-game format.
#3. Rohit Sharma | India | 4026 runs
Indian skipper Rohit Sharma takes the 3rd spot in terms of making the most runs in the history of T20I cricket, with 4026 runs in 152 games(144 innings). Sharma is one of the best openers ever to play the game. He also holds the record of scoring the most number (5) of 100s in T20 internationals. Rohit has also recorded 30 half-centuries in the format. He played his first T20I match in 2007 against England. Rohit has been playing for India for 17 years now.

Former India captain Virat Kohli is the second-highest run-scorer (4038 runs in 110 innings) in T20I cricket. Kohli has recorded 37 half-centuries and one century in the format. The modern-day great has consistently scored runs in all formats of the game. He is certainly one of the best batsmen the game has ever seen. Virat Kohli made his first appearance in a T20I against Zimbabwe in 2010. So far he has played 10 years of T20I cricket. Virat notched up the most runs in the 2014 T20 World Cup with 319 runs in 6 games and in the 2022 T20 World Cup with 296 runs in 6 games.
#1. Babar Azam | Pakistan | 4067 runs
One of the best batsmen of the latest era, Babar Azam is at the top of the list. Azam plays with pure technique and class to dominate bowlers around the world. The Pakistani ace has scored 4067 runs in 120 games(113 innings) at an impressive average of 41.08. Azam is a match-winner but has struggled a lot lately. His strike rate of 129.77 is not good enough in T20Is. He has registered 36 half-centuries and three centuries in T20Is.
