IND vs PAK T20 World Cup Results since 2007

India will face arch-rivals Pakistan on Sunday, June 9 at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York. Both teams are in Group A and will be playing their second match of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 campaign. Skipper Rohit Sharma led the Indian Cricket team to a comfortable eight-wicket victory over Ireland.

The Pakistan Cricket Team, on the other hand, registered an embarrassing defeat at the hands of the USA in their first match of the tournament. Batting first, the Babar Azam-led team could only score 159 runs in their allotted 20 overs. The match went to a Super-Over after scores were tied at the end of the USA innings and the hosts registered a historic victory.

IND vs PAK: 2007 T20 World Cup

India faced Pakistan twice during the inaugural edition of the T20 World Cup. The first match between these two rivals saw a thrilling encounter as the match was tied after the allotted 20-over innings. But, India eventually won the match through a bowl-out. 

The two teams met once again in the finals of the 2007 T20 World Cup. India won the match by five runs and were crowned the first-ever T20 World Cup Champions.

IND vs PAK: 2012 T20 World Cup

India faced Pakistan in the Super 8 during the 2012 T20 World Cup which took place in Sri Lanka. India won the match comfortably by 8 wickets and Virat Kohli bagged the man of the match award. This was India's third consecutive victory in the T20 World Cup over Pakistan.

IND vs PAK: 2014 T20 World Cup

India and Pakistan met during the 2014 T20 World Cup group stage. India once again registered an easy win over Pakistan with a 7-wicket victory. India chased down 131 in just 18.3 overs. Amit Mishra was the player of the match for his 22/2.

India reached the final that year but eventually lost to Sri Lanka who won the match by six wickets.

India was the hosting nation of the 2016 T20 World Cup and faced Pakistan at Eden Gardens in the group stage of the tournament. It was once again the 'Men in Blues' who dominated the match and eventually won it by 6 wickets.

Pakistan registered their first-ever victory over India at the T20 World Cup during the 2021 edition which took place in UAE. Babar Azam-led team dominated the game and won the match by 10 wickets. Mohammad Rizwan (79*) and Babar Azam (68*) helped Pakistan chase down the target of 152 runs inside 18 overs.

The India vs Pakistan match at the 2022 T20 World Cup was one of the most thrilling contests between these two nations in the T20 format. Pakistan batted first and scored 159 runs in their allotted 20 overs. In response, India had a poor start, losing early wickets but Virat Kohli led India in an unbelievable chase.

The Kohli-Pandya partnership brought India back into the game and with 48 required off just 18 balls, Kohli showed his masterclass and took India over the line with a last-ball victory to register their 5th victory against their arch-rivals.
