Shubman Gill scored a brilliant 49-ball-67 to guide Gujarat Titans to victory over Punjab Kings in the IPL 2023 in Mohali on Thursday. Wriddhiman Saha provided GT with a perfect start before he was dismissed by Kagiso Rabada who became the fastest to claim 100 wickets in IPL history. Earlier, tight bowling performance from Gujarat Titans restrict Punjab Kings to 153/8 in 20 overs. For PBKS, Matthew Short smashed 36 runs while Jitesh Sharma scored 25. Apart from them, Shahrukh Khan and Sam Curran scored 22 runs each. For GT, Mohit Sharma scalped two wickets while Rashid Khan, Johua Little, Mohammed Shami, and Alzarri Joseph scalped one wicket each.

Gujarat started off brilliantly with early important wickets
Gujarat Titans won the toss & decided to bowl first. Prabhsimran Singh & Shikhar Dhawan opened the inning for Punjab Kings while Shami started the proceedings for Gujarat Titans. Shami dismissed Prabhsimran in the second delivery for a duck. Shikhar Dhawan, who is in great form also got removed from the crease by the young gun, Little after scoring only 8 runs. Australian batsman Matt Short played a brilliant inning of 36 runs in just 24 deliveries with 6 fours and 1 six but couldn't extend his inning for long. Rashid Khan picked up his wicket at the right time when Gujarat needed it. Rajapaksha scored 20 runs but he too couldn't construct a bigger inning. Joseph dismissed him after facing 26 deliveries.
Gujarat Titans restricted Punjab Kings for a Low Total
Sam Curran held his ground with 22 runs in the same amount of deliveries while Sharukh Khan played a brilliant cameo by scoring 22 runs in only 9 deliveries with 2 big sixes. Harpreet Brar also smashed 1 six to end the Punjab inning for 153 runs. Mohit Sharma returned to IPL and picked up two wickets for 18 runs. Joseph, Little, Rashid Khan & Shami ended their spell with 1 wicket to their copy.

PBKS vs GT:
Shubman Gill & Wriddhiman Saha started the chase quite in style
Gill & Saha started the chase while Arshdeep Singh started the proceedings for Punjab Kings with the bowl. Saha looked in tremendous touch as he charged down Rabada & Arshdeep with consecutive boundaries. Gujarat Titans reached 36 runs in the first three overs. Rabada sent Saha home in the fifth over for 30 runs in 19 deliveries with five boundaries. Rabada became the fastest bowler to take 100 wickets in IPL (64 innings). The opening stand broke for 48 runs.
Sai Sudharsan started slowly while Gill started to show his trajectory. Couple of boundaries from Gill to remove the pressure once again. Sai made 19 runs in 20 deliveries and got dismissed by the left handed Indian pacer, Arshdeep Singh. Skipper Pandya tried to go big down the ground but picked out the fielder at mid-on. Harpreet Brar got the GT captain for 8 runs. Couple of quick wickets and Gujarat Titans looked a little shaky.
Gill made half-century, Miller & Tewatia helped GT complete the chase
Gill showed his class & took responsibility to pulled off the match as he made his half-century in 40 deliveries. A mature and responsible inning from the Indian & Titans opener. He went on to make 67 runs in 49 deliveries with 7 fours and 1 six but Sam Curran shattered down the stumps in the last over's 2nd bowl. Rahul Tewatia came to the crease to help Miller who was in 16 run mark in 17 deliveries. Sam Curran bowled brilliantly but Tewatia smashed a boundary to finish the chase in the second last delivery of the over.
