Kerala Cricket Association included the former Indian cricketer in the Kerala Ranji squad or the upcoming Ranji Trophy 2021-22. Kerala Cricket Association announced the 20-member squad for the tournament, beginning from 10 February. This will be his first Ranji Trophy participation since his acquittal.

The 2007 ICC T20 World Cup and 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup winner, Sreesanth last played for Kerala in the 2020-21 Vijay Hazare Trophy quarter-final against Karnataka. He is returning to the marquee domestic competition after getting shortlisted for the upcoming IPL mega-auction.

Sachin Baby will lead the Kerala squad in the Ranji Trophy 2021-22 and the wicketkeeper-batter Vishnu Vinod is the vice-captain. Kerala will kickstart its campaign on 17 February against Meghalaya.
