Rajasthan Royals is getting ready for the upcoming IPL 2022, starting in only a few days. The T20 tournament commences on 26 March with CSK vs KKR in Mumbai. The winner of the inaugural IPL season, RR will play their first clash of the campaign against Sunrisers Hyderabad on 29 March. RR's director of cricket Kumar Sangakkara spoke on the team in a conversation with "Red Bull Cricket".

Rajasthan Royals had quite an amazing auction for IPL 2022. Among all their buys, Devdutt Padikkal, Shimron Hetmyer, Daryll Mitchell are some youngsters who had great performances in the past seasons. The Indian successful spinners Yuzvendra Chahal and Ravichandran Ashwin also joined the franchise this year.
While conversing with "Red Bull Cricket" on Clubhouse, Kumar Sangakkara conversed about the present updates and that team composition. The director of cricket also spoke about the influence and importance of the young cricketers in the squad.

The interviewer asked him, "Any aspect from the game from players like Devdutt Padikkal, Hetmyer, and Yashasvi Jaiswal that you would've liked to have if you were playing?" Sangakkara replied to the question, "Devdutt Padikkal's leg-side play, his flicks, and his ability against pace are wonderful. Jaiswal.. his power and enthusiasm, in terms of the off-side play. Hetmyer's ability to hit sixers and Parag's ability to hit sixers for fun."
He said about the young Indian cricketer Padikkal, "I've watched Devdutt Padikkal over the last two seasons. He's such an exciting player, so accomplished. I just want him to know how valuable he is for the team."
