WPL 2023: Alyssa Healy's masterclass buries the hopes for Royal Challengers Bangalore as they fail to register their first win against UP Warriorz

Bangalore failed to register their first victory as UP Warriorz's skipper Alyssa Healy played a masterclass in the 8th match of WPL 2023.

UP Warriorz beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by 10 wickets as Alyssa Healy played a beautiful inning of 96* runs in 47 deliveries. Royal Challengers Bangalore once again failed to perform well collectively and as a result, they lost their 4th consecutive match in the WPL 2023. Smriti Mandhana still couldn't find her form in the tournament. Perry played a good inning but didn't get the finish they needed and UP Warriorz dominated the match and clinched the victory.

WPL 2023: Royal Challengers Bangalore vs UP Warriorz Match Report

RCB Batting:

Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Smriti Mandhana won the toss & with no hesitation, decided to bat first. Smriti Mandhana and Sophie Devine started the innings for RCB. Bangalore had a great start as they scored 13 runs in the first over which set a positive intent. Rajeshwari Gayakwad puts an end to Smriti Mandhana's innings, who failed to impress the fans once again. Sophie Ecclestone scalped the big wicket of Sophie Devine. It was a good length ball in which Devine wanted to play a shot on the off-side, but failed to judge the length correctly. The ball crashed onto the stumps as Devine departed for 36 off 24 balls. Heather Knight, who was performing really well for RCB in the last few matches, got run out. Australian all-rounder Ellyse Perry completed her first half-century in the WPL 2023.

She got there in 35 balls. Richa Ghosh failed to contribute so much for RCB yet another time as she also lost her wicket by while running between the wickets. Sophie Ecclestone returned figures of 4 for 13 as Royal Challengers Bangalore got all out at the score of 138 runs against the UP Warriorz. Ellyse Perry hit 52 and Sophie Devine scored 36 while the rest of the RCB batters failed to score big.

UP Warriorz started the chase with a positive mindset as captain Alyssa Healy showed her class from the very start. The Warriorz reached scored 55 runs in the powerplay as Alyssa Healy led the run chase. She made her half-century in just 29 deliveries as Bangalore found no options to get her off the field. Devika vaidya complemented her captain really well as she only dealt in singles & doubles. Healy took the responsibility for the fireworks. UP Warriorz chased down the score successfully in just 13 overs without loosing a single wicket. Skipper Alyssa Healy remained not out for 96* runs in 47 deliveries with 18 fours & 1 six. Devika Baidya also remained not out for 36*. Royal Challengers Bangalore once again failed to deliver something for their fans and lost their fourth consecutive match of the WPL 2023.
