Ravichandran Ashwin has once again proven his worth as one of the best spin bowlers in the world by becoming the sixth bowler to take 30 or more five-wicket hauls in Test cricket. The Indian spinner achieved this milestone during the INDvsAUS fourth Test match at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.

Ashwin showed his spin on the second day on a helpful pitch for batting. He took a total of six wickets in the innings to wrap up Australia's first innings of the INDvsAUS fourth Test. When it seemed the Indian bowlers had no plan, Ashwin led India to success with his bowling and then took wickets in quick succession. He also took a huge Border-Gavaskar Trophy record while taking six wickets and went past former Indian leg-spinner Anil Kumble.

Ashwin took 5 wickets in an innings for the 32nd time against Australia during INDvsAus fourth Test. This achievement puts him in an elite group of bowlers. Which include Muttiah Muralitharan, Shane Warne, Anil Kumble, James Anderson, and Richard Hadlee. Muralitharan leads the list with 67 five-wicket hauls. While Shane Warne with 37, Richard Hadlee with 36, Kumble with 35, Rangana Herath with 34, and Anderson with 32. Ashwin is the second-fastest bowler to reach the milestone of 30 five-wicket hauls in Test cricket, behind only Muralitharan.

Moreover, Ashwin, who made his Test debut for India in 2011, has been a vital member of the Indian team for more than a decade now. Ashwin has 473 wickets to his name in Test cricket.
