IPL Fantasy League Team News: KKR

In the last match against, KKR nearly ticked off all of their boxes. Rana and Gill form a solid opening partnership. Rahul Tripathi's quickfire knock will give them some confidence too.

Dinesh Karthik finshed well at the end. However, it's the form of captain Morgan which will be worrying the KKR team management. Morgan has been out of touch since the India-England series. Shakib might be sent up the order if the wicket falls quickly. In that case, Tripathi can be a flyer in the lineup.

Coming to the bowling, middle overs looked flat. Maybe an inform Kuldeep would have been a great choice. KKR would like to stick with Shakib and Varun with the spin options. Even Rana can roll his arm over if needed. Prasidh Krishna found some extra bounce, though he leaked runs. However, Russell in that sixth bowling option for KKR is a big plus. Moreover, the big West Indian looked fit clocking over 140kmph while bowling.

Overall, we don't expect any changes form the KKR team management, unless they are forced to.

IPL Fantasy League Team News: Mumbai Indians

Though Mumbai lost their first match against the RCB, there were few positives as well. Mumbai is not a team to chop and change too quickly.

Though the bowling might have some changes if Rohit needs it. MI was not able to stop the flow of runs when ABD was stroking it hard. Boult with the new ball and Bumrah with the older ball is a winning combination for them.

Krunal and Hardik hold the key. Though, Hardik has not bowled yet in the IPL. Big man Kieron Pollard will be looking to contribute to the team this time. Spin wizard, Rahul Chahar was found confused when tough questions were asked by RCB batters.

Rohit Sharma stats against KKR in IPL- SportzPoint

If Rohit Sharma needs any team to score big and come back to from, it is the Kolkata Knight Riders. No one has scored more than Rohit against KKR in the IPL. Rohit has scored 939 runs at an average of 46.95 and a strike rate of 133 against the Knights. He will need 61 more runs to become the only batsman to hit 1000 runs against any team.

IPL 2025 Playoffs: How can Mumbai Indians finish at the top of the points table? | sportzpoint.com

Mumbai Indians are the fourth team to seal their playoffs spot in IPL 2025, defeating DC to get those concluding 2 points. As we move further in the tournament, the focus shifts from playoffs qualification to top 4 standings.

How can Mumbai Indians finish at the top of the points table? The calculation is pretty simple. Check them out.

Why Aim for Top 2?

The benefits of finishing in the top two in league stage are many.

  • Double chance in Qualifiers: A sigh of relief as the top 2 teams will have double chances to reach the finals, playing Qualifier 1 & 2.
  • Avoid Eliminator pressure: Finishing top 2 will provide the safety net and free them from knockout pressure in Eliminator, where a single bad performance can lead to elimination from the final race.

How can MI finish inside top two?

  • MI must win their final league stage game against PBKS (on 26 May) to keep their hopes for top 2 alive.
  • PBKS need to lose another match to DC, which will restrict them from going beyond 17 points.
  • RCB should lose both their remaining games (against LSG & SRH), which too will restrict them at 17 points.

Here's how MI can be at top of the points table

If the scenarios mentioned above go in their favour, along with GT losing their last 2 games, MI will end at no. 1 in the table. Both GT and MI will have 18 points, and MI will be on top, given their NRR advantage.

Reasons why MI can't be on top two:

IPL 2025 Playoffs: How can Mumbai Indians finish at the top of the points table? | sportzpoint.com

Rain can obstruct MI's way of reaching the top 2 in many ways.

  • If the match between MI and PBKS gets washed out, they will end up with 17 points, making their chances slim.
  • If the match between DC and PBKS also gets washed out, PBKS will go ahead with 18 points.
  • If any of the last two games of RCB get washed out, they will also go ahead in terms of points.
